GARBANZO TOMATO PASTA SOUP
Garbanzo Tomato Pasta Soup is a totally filling soup and a meal in itself owing to the addition of pasta and garbanzo.Garbanzo is nothing but white chick peas which can be either soaked and pressure cooked or store bought in a can.I have soaked and cooked it,you can do it either way.When I first sounded the name of this,I was thinking this might be a tiring job and tough recipe to make.But I was wrong.I made this within 15 minutes and was ready for dinner well before tome.The addition of basil leaves adds an Italian touch and the flavor is that of mildly spiced.

I learnt that Garbanzo beans as they are called is widely used in Italian cuisine and the main addition of them is in the soups which is why they are so fulfilling.You can use vegetable broth to make it more healthier in place ofnormal water.The principle behind the soup is the proper usage of legumes and pasta couples with vegetables and spices.The addition of Rosemary the most aromatic spice I have known,lends a clear cut flavour to the soup.Though I wanted to add celery sticks I could not,since I didn’t get the day I made this bowl full of happiness.See own below the enchanting soup and make your dinner time more enjoyable.

- 1/4 cup pasta Fussili
- 1 tomato
- 1 onion
- 1/4 cup Chickpeas / Garbanzo -(soaked overnight and pressure cooked)
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1/2 tsp black pepper Powder
- to taste salt
- 1 garlic
- 1 tsp olive oil
- basil Leaves- for garnish

- In a small pan add water to boil and put pasta to it.
- Once cooked witch off the flame.
- Strain and keep aside.
- Chop onion and tomato.
- In a pan add oilve oil, crushed garlicand chopped onion.Fry till pink.
- Add chopped onion.
- Add a cup of water,cooked pasta and garbanzo.
- Boil for 5 minutes.
- Add black pepper powder.
- Add rosemary and salt.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Switch off the flame.
- Garbanzo Tomato Pasta Soup is ready to serve.
Notes
You can add dried basil for garnish.
You can add grated cheese on top.
You can add oregano for that Italian taste,if you have it on hand.
