TOMATO SEVAI/TOMATO IDIYAPPAM
Idiyappam or Sevai is always a good option to make for breakfast.I already have a few idiyappam recipes in my blog,both instant and homemade and they are always filling and also a wholesome meal in itself.When you have idiyappam ready you can flavour it with any thing you like and the options are endless and purely upto your imagination.Usually a breakfast recipe,this can be had a dinner item too as I make it sometimes or a snack.The method of preparation is very easy and quick and can be made in no time.For kids who are fussy eaters,you can always a lot of veggies and mix it with sevai and they will never know what veggies you had added.So today it is Tomato Sevai or Tomato Idiyappam in Nithya’s Kitchen.Scroll down for the tasty recipe of the same..

- 1/2 tsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1/2 tsp Channa dal
- 2 green chilli
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 3 tomato small
- 1 onion
- handful Green Peas a
- 1/2 tsp red chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric Powder
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- a few coriander leaves
- to taste salt
Ingredients

- In a pan add all the ingredients given in the to temper table.Wait till mustard has crackled and dals have turned brown.
- Add chopped onion.
- Add now green peas,curry leaves,red chilly powder and turmeric powder.
- Wait till onion turns pink.
- Add chopped tomatoes and salt.
- Once the tomato has cooked and turned mushy turn off the flame.
- Add cooked idiyappam .
- Mix well.Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Delicious Tomato Sevai/Tomato Idiyappam is ready to be served.Enjoy as it is or with any chutney or raita.
Notes
You can make fresh idiyappam at home or use any store brand idiyappam and follow the instructions on the pack to cook.
Add carrots and beans for extra taste.
You can make a no onion version of this by avoiding onion.
