ALU TIKKI BURGER
No one can resist burgers and if it is homemade, then it is all the more better. I love Alu Tikkis very much.Growing up in New Delhi, I have seen street vendors here and there selling hot Alu Tikkis all time of the day. Those times I never bothered what kind of oil goes in to it ,but enjoyed only gulping them down. But with growing years as many things changed now I am too choosy about eating things out. My daughter loves both burgers and Alu Tikkis and she was doubly happy as I made this 2 days back. Mc Donalds Alu Tikki Burger has been an all time favorite and I tried to make it as tasty as I could. The small outlets here in Bangalore also serve these cute little buns smeared with mayonnaise with lettuce leaves and tomato, onion, cucumber slices sandwiched with potato patties. Sounds yum, right? I have made a slight variation here, and have used mayonnaise as Dhivya likes it. But you can apply butter on the buns and then smear green and sweet chutney alternatively.
So this fusion can please the young crowd very easily and can win hearts. Now as I have made it and given to Dhivya ,I know she is going to demand this from now on. I have used minimal ingredients for the patties, but you can add boiled peas to potato to make the patty even more tastier. I had also fried some spiralized potato chips and that goes well with this burger. So if you are more inclined in Indian style cooking and prefer to have it only, then try recipe which has the Indian taste with western feel. This will turn out to be an instant hit and you can make this with no fear as the tikkis are shallow fried with less oil and the outcome is tasty.
