CHILLI GOBHI
Chilli Gobhi is a lip smacking stater recipe similar to Gobhi Manchurian.It is made out of deep fried cauliflower florets in maida and corn flour batter mixed with a variety of sauces.This Indo-Chinese dish is my daughter’s favorite and I made this for her some time back.This easy recipe can be made in 15 minutes if all ingredients are kept ready.It forms a good side dish for fried rice besides being a tasty snack.If you don’t want to serve it dry as I have done,you make add water and make it a gravy consistency.The tricky part is to keep the cauliflower florets crispy,so mix it with sauces and serve as and when you eat.
Keep cauliflower florets in boiling water to remove germs.This recipe is popular among children,so prepare a bit more than planned,I am sure you won’t have anything left behind.If you like add some rice flour to make the florets crispy,but I was fine this recipe,so didn’t add.Few of the recipes use ajinomoto or chinese salt,but due to many mentions about it’s usage regarding health point of view,I perfer not adding it.Over to the recipe now..

- 1 cup cauliflower Florets
- 1/4 yellow capsicum
- 1/4 capsicum Red
- 1/4 green capsicum
- 1 onion
- 1/2 tsp ginger (grated)
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Sauce (grated)
- 1/2 tsp Soya Sauce
- 1/2 tsp tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper Powder
- to taste salt
- 1 green chilli
- 1/2 tsp spring onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1/2 cup maida
- 2 tsps corn flour
- 1/2 tsp red chilli Powder
- to taste salt
- 1 pinch baking soda
Ingredients

- Boil cauliflower florets in water.
- Strain once par boiled.
- In a bowl add maida,corn flour,red chilli powder,salt and baking soda.
- Adding water make a lump free batter.
- Dip cauliflower florets in the batter.
- Heat oil in a pan and add coated cauliflower florets in hot oil.
- Take them out once golden brown.
- In another pan add oil and grated ginger and garlic.
- Add chopped onion and green chilli.
- Fry till pink.
- Add red,green and yellow capsicum pieces.
- Add soya sauce.
- Add tomato sauce.
- Add black pepper powder.
- Add fried cauliflower florets now.
- Mix well.Add chopped coriander leaves and spring onions.
- Chilli Gobhi is ready to be served.
Notes
You can make the same recipe using paneer or bread.
You can add green chilli sauce for more spiciness.
Adding pepper adds to the taste.
