FRUIT CUSTARD
Fruit Custard is an easy and tasty dessert which can be made in minutes. Whenever I buy lots of fruits at home, I make it a point to make and I always end up in making extra and keep it in the refrigerator. It is always liked by all at ho,e and I use generally seasonal fruits that are easily available. I don’t know why I haven’t posted this yet, but I am glad I did it now. As you can see I have used vanilla flavoured custard, but you can use any variation such as rasberry, strawberry, chocolate, coffee or lemon. You can add the fruits as the flavour you re using as it might contradict the taste sometimes. Coming to the milk, use always full cream milk to get the best results. The preparation is very simple and it tastes so creamy and delicious.
The trick to this recipe is very simple. You should add the custard powder to plain milk which is boiled and cooled and mix it so as to avoid any lumps. If by any chance you get lumps, then sieve it to get a fine texture. Also it is very important to add the chopped fruits only when the custard mixture has cooled down. Otherwise it would taste bad. You can add cherries, badam. pista, tutti frutti, dates and other dry fruits of your choice. I have seen if you add watery fruits such as water melon, musk melon etc, the mixture gets watery and will not retain the semi solid state. My friend makes it by adding milkmaid also and that will add more creaminess to the custard. The accompaniment of this to a meal adds an added attraction to any meal. Try out this any time of the day and enjoy.
