MANGO MASTANI
Mango Mastani is a dessert drink originated in Pune. It is a thick milkshake with ice cream and nuts. I had it once in a juice bar here in Bangalore and was hooked by the taste. I decided there itself that I should make this and post this on my blog. The epic says that the drink got it’s name from the Peshwa Baji Rao’s wife who is said to be a brave and beautiful woman. The delicious concoction of mangoes, ice cream and dry fruits makes it delicious. You could find this at almost any eatery, but making it at home was a tasty affair. As it is mango season now and my house was filled with aromatic mangoes last week, I could make this awesome dessert drink.

The drink was such a rejuvenating one one that my daughter wanted a second helping. So for Mango lovers, this is going to be a treat for your taste buds. I later got to know from my friend that you can make mastani from any fruit, like Dry Fruit Mastani, Pineapple Mastani, Vanilla Mastani, Custard Apple Mastani, but Mango sounded appealing to me as it is the King Of Fruits. The dessert it very filling and pleasing to the eyes as well, owing to the addition of nuts and cherries and mangoes ice cream. The combination of ice cream and mangoes makes it heavenly rich.

- 1 mango
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
- 2 tsps sugar
- 4 Almonds
- 4 Cashew Nuts
- 2 Cherries Glazed
Ingredients

- Wash and chop the mango and place it in a blender.
- Add sugar.
- Blend well.
- Add milk.
- Blend to a smooth consistency.
- Pour the mango milkshake in a tall serving glass.
- Add ice cream.
- Add chopped mangoes, chopped almonds and cashew nuts.Add a cherry on top for garnish.
- Mango Mastani is ready to be relished.
Notes
You can use mango ice cream in place of vanilla.
You can add any chopped nuts of your choice.
You add also add tutti frutti along with cherry.
