ONION RINGS/STARTER
I first tasted onion rings at a party held in my hubby’s friend’s place.I thought it was bhajji and when i ate it’s taste was peculiar and different.Was thinking of how to ask the hostess,she came to me and said don’t miss onion rings.Then i knew it was not bhajji.I then asked her and she gave me the simplest of all recipes of onion rings.It is made out of maida and corn flour and not with besan.And the more important ingredient here is the buttertmilk.Some people add eggs,but being a hard core vegetarian,i avoided.You can makethis for a starter or an evening snack.Let’s see the quick recipe of onion rings.

- 1/2 cup Maida
- 1/4 cup Corn flour
- 2 tsp Rice flour
- 2 Onions
- pinch Baking soda a
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup Buttermilk
- to taste Salt
- Oil for deep frying
Ingredients

- Take maida,corn flour,rice flour along with baking soda,red chilly powder and salt in a bowl.
- Add buttermilk .
- Mix well without any lumps.
- Slices onions as shown in the shape of rings.Put the rings in batter and coat well.
- Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry till golden brown.
- Once done take them out.
- Take in a tissue paper.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Don’t forget to add buttermilk as this imparts a unique flavour.
Adding a pod of crushed garlic to the batter will also add to the taste.
Serve immediately.
