A traditional South Indian dessert made during festivities at homes,Pal Payasam is a milk based sweet. Simple to make and pleasing to eat and serve.It is a must in most functions in Tamil and Kerala households.Lord Guruvayurappan is said to be fond of this delicacy.So friends,here is the recipe.Enjoy making,eating and serving.

Instructions
  1. Heat the ghee in a pan.
  2. Now add the chopped nuts and keep them aside.
  3. Add rice now and saute it for 2mins.
  4. Add milk now and let it boil and keep on stirring.
  5. It is preferable to use a non stick pan so that the milk doesn't stick to the bottom.
  6. When the rice is cooked,add sugar and cook until the mixture is reduced to half.
  7. Add the condensed milk and mix it well and check for the desired consistency.
  8. Now add cardamom powder and garnish it with chopped nuts.
  9. Pal payasam is ready.
  10. Serve it hot or cold as you please.

NOTES:

I have used basmati rice,but you can use ordinary cooking rice as well.

Using cream milk will enhance the flavour of the dish

In case you are in a hurry in making this you can coarsely grind the rice and follow the steps as above.
